Started mowing at 8:30 to beat the three-digit heat index. Afterwards
I followed the kitties lead and lay down on the tile floor in the
kitchen to cool off.

Stubborn Noodle

Poor, stubborn Noodle. After his surgery last week, Sebsy has been refusing to eat. So yesterday he had another surgery to put in a feeding tube. Hopefully, now that we can get food directly into his tummy, he'll start feeling better soon.

That's the tube on the left side of his head; it gives him an eerie resemblance to Locutus of Borg.

Listen to the meows of thanks coming from outside while you relax on the couch.

Zip tie bamboo to the top rail and to wooden supports to prevent over-rail escape.

Staple deer mesh around the deck to prevent between-slats or under-rail escape.

Build gate using weather-proof wood, galvanized hinges, miter saw, measuring tape, and iPhone (handy level and calculator apps).

Wet Noodle

Poor Sebsy! Yesterday he broke his jaw when he was on the wrong side of a 58lbs falling speaker. He had surgery today to remove a tooth and wire together his broken jaw bones. (His mouth will be staying open like that for a few days.)

Then to add insult to injury he had to get a bath when he finally got home. The indignity of it all.
