I was somewhere in the world where fake wood was desired far more than genuine. Some people would etch "genuine fake wood" on actual wood in order to increase its perceived value. Some other people would scratch the wood to see it if was a veneer or not--if not, the deal would be off. They'd say "No way!" They really would.
Carol, remember the rule of 90-90: 90% of all domestic wood is grown within 90 square miles somewhere in the Pacific Northwest while 90% of all genuine fake wood is produced by China, where less than 90% of the world's population lives. If you forget, it's OK. Just remember 90-90 and make up the rest.
