Food leads to Energy, Energy leads to Top Performance

After a whole lot of yardwork on Saturday Steve and I found our cupboards bare. Instead of dragging ourselves to the grocery store, we pulled out an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat). This military meal in a bag consisted of penne in tomato sauce, pretzels, shake, fake kool-aid, and two tootsie rolls. Just add water for a piping hot meal in a bag!

  1. Didn't you have to place it on a rock or anything?

I assume the full meal review is still to come? How was it?

  2. We used a fruit bowl. :) Not very rugged, but we did achieve the appropriate angle.
I'm gonna say the bag of pretzels was the best element in the bunch. The faux meat crumbles in the pasta sauce had some texture issues.
Oh, and Steve says it was different than the MREs he was used to as it didn't come with a small roll of toilet paper.

  3. It didn't come with TP? did it at least have water resistant matches? my favorites were beef stew and potatoes au gratin. Wilson loved the omelette, with tabasco. It did have a mini bottle of tabasco sauce, and a cocoa packet, right?
